Governance

Here you will find important information, documentation and external links to all things Rugby related. Below are also details on the laws and disciplinary procedures in Estonian Rugby.

If you would like to get involved in volunteering at your local rugby club there are a number of ways to make it happen.

Already a member or parent of a player? Get in touch with your Committee or Club Volunteer Coordinator. Alternatively, you could speak to the coach of your child’s age group to see how you could help out.

If you are new to rugby and are looking to get involved, you can find your local club and contact via the club league or get in touch with your local Club Developer. Located regionally all over the country, our Club Developers are knowledgeable about the clubs on their patch and can recommend suitable clubs and contacts.

Everyone from the coaches, referees, cooks, team managers, Executive Committee and Board in clubs are volunteers so whether you’d like to help out occasionally, support your child’s rugby or put your professional skills to good use, there’s a way you can get involved.

Without the time, energy and commitment of volunteers, rugby simply would not happen.

It is important your club knows how to inspire, manage and support them, recognise their hard work and make sure they know how valued they are.

The Estonian Rugby Union’s current anti-doping provisions are in line with the World Anti-Doping Agency Code.

As a member union of Rugby Europe, the Estonian Rugby Union adopts World Rugby’s Anti-Doping Regulation 21 which is compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code.
We urge all clubs, players and support staff to be familiar with the implications of the current provisions and to ensure they are compliant.

In addition we work closely with the Estonian Center for Integrity in Sports

Each half of the match is started with a drop kick from the centre of the halfway line. The non-kicking team must be 10 metres back from the ball when it is kicked and the kick must travel 10m towards the opposition goal-line before hitting the ground.

Discipline is one of the core values of rugby. The ERL Discipline team strives to ensure that rugby is a game of controlled physical endeavour and that it is honest and fair.

If you have any concern or complaint that you would to report to the ERL directly please email kaitumine@rugby.ee confidentially.

The ERL’s disciplinary regime reflects World Rugby Regulation 17.

It exists to penalise players whose foul play or misconduct is other than purely accidental, and one of its most important principles is to prevent the risk of injury to other players in a dynamic and physical sport.

Players have an obligation to ensure that they do not cause injury to opponents, so there is a presumption that any conduct which is proscribed by World Rugby Law 9 (foul play) merits a sanction.

The ERL Discipline Department deals with foul play and misconduct cases in all areas of the Game.

It also deals with appeals from Constituent Body Disciplinary Panels and other specific cases that the Constituent Body Disciplinary Panels do not have the power to deal with, for example, breaches of World Rugby Regulation 10 and 21 (medical and anti-doping).
