Part 2: Men’s Day 1 — Kosovo

The Estonia Men’s 7s team had an excellent Day 1 at the Rugby Europe 7s Conference 2 in Istog, Kosovo. With two wins and one defeat, Estonia finished second in Group B and qualified for the semi-finals.

Day 1 results

Estonia 31–5 Greece | Estonia 32–10 Kosovo | Estonia 15–28 Slovakia

Estonia’s final group match was against tournament favourites Slovakia. Though Slovakia won, Estonia scored 15 points — better than last year’s 14. Estonia dominated their matches against Greece and Kosovo.

Today’s semi-final: Estonia vs Gibraltar (Group A winners) — kick-off 12:44 Estonian time. A win means the final and a guaranteed medal — a loss means the bronze match. Either way, Estonia are guaranteed a minimum 4th place, with the medal still within reach.

This year Estonia fielded two national teams simultaneously in two countries — a significant logistical and financial effort for the Union.
