Historic day: Estonia Women win their first-ever international match

13 June 2026 | Estonian Rugby Union

The Estonia Women’s 7s team has won their first-ever international match, defeating Greece 21–12 at the Rugby Europe 7s Conference tournament in Andorra. It is a landmark in the history of Estonian women’s rugby.

Day 1 results

  • Estonia vs Malta — 5–33
  • Estonia vs Slovakia — 0–41
  • Estonia vs Greece — 21–12 (HISTORIC FIRST WIN)

Three matches, three lessons

The day opened against Malta — an experienced Conference-level side. Despite the scoreline, Estonia showed strong resistance and the match was competitive throughout. The second match against Slovakia, who dominated from the start, was a different story. In the third match, Estonia played with freedom and confidence — and won 21–12.

Destiny Moses scored two tries and converted all three Estonia tries — adding 16 points individually. Kadri Masso scored Estonia’s third try. The team showed remarkable development across the three matches, growing stronger with every game.

What’s next

Estonia finished third in Group B and qualified for the quarter-finals. Tomorrow (13 June) at 11:28 Estonian time, Estonia face Latvia in the quarter-finals. Estonia are guaranteed a minimum 8th place finish out of 11 nations. Win and a semi-final awaits — and a chance to fight for a medal.
